Dear Roger Thompson;

This past week during the extreme snow event and cold temperatures, we lost the use of our heating system. When we called G&S on the first day of the storm, you were willing to send Jeff out here to try and help with restoring our heat. Jeff got here when most other people were unable to navigate the snow on the roads. Unfortunately, what he found was that the blower motor on our furnace was burned out and he didn't have a replacement one with him or nearby. A new one had to be ordered out of Kent. All this in the middle of the worst snow even in the past 20 years. We have spent five days without heat, three of those without power, and our house is not designed to be warmed up by a wood-stove (it's got a spread out design with lots of glass…). Needless to say it's been a very cold week.

When Jeff called on Friday to say he had the part and was going to try and get out here - I knew it was going to be a difficult challenge, since there were numerous trees down and compound ice everywhere. While he did get very close, he did get stopped by trees across the road that made it impassable. I applaud his efforts to try. While I don't know if you all work on Saturdays, I want to express my gratitude to Jeff, and G&S for going above and beyond to bring out the new motor and install it, in his own vehicle, on a Saturday morning, on roads that are still very challenging and dangerous. I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have heat again this morning after five days without it. All the pets thank you as well. You have a great employee in Jeff, and we are glad for his assistance.

Dear Mr. Thompson:

I wanted to take an opportunity to let you know what a great company you have with G&S. Several years ago we purchased a heat pump and upgrade to our propane heater and also had some electrical work performed in our garage and dimmers installed in the house.

The reason for my letter is not because of a perfect experience but how your company and in particular, Jeremy have taken care of us as a customer. We were excited about the heat pump (sold to us by Jeremy) and the installation and initial performance were great.

We even signed up for the maintenance program to take care of this very expensive investment. Then over the past few years we experienced one problem after another and each time we asked for Jeremy to service the pump. Then a few months ago we voiced our frustration over the constant problems and did not feel it was a normal situation.

Jeremy, after diagnosing the problem recommended that G&S speak with Lennox about the problem. Not only did G&S get Lennox to provide us a new heat pump but also worked with us to keep the cost down on the installation.

We will always be a customer with G&S because you stand behind your products and you hire and retain people like Jeremy. He represents G&S professionally and has always treated us in a manner beyond our expectations.

It is never talked about when things go right but what goes wrong. How the staff and company handle themselves when things go wrong is what sets them apart.

We will always be faithful to G&S, and look forward to using your services in the future (at least as long as Jeremy is working there).

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for doing such an excellent job installing our heat pump last Tuesday. Your team was pleasant, professional, courteous, respectful of our home, polite and wasted no time standing around. I want to thank you for being so fast when I had a furnace failure in the middle of a cold night. The technician was here it seemed within 10 minutes. He was able to temporarily get heat going in our house after troubleshooting. We decided we would rather replace the unit, as it was old, instead of fixing it. After the installation of our new heat pump and furnace, we were so amazed at how quiet heat pumps are – both inside and outside our home. Our home is always at the ideal comfort level, not to mention the dramatic savings on our power bill.

G & S is the only company I will use from here on out. I will do my dandiest to recommend you to anyone I know looking to get a new heating or cooling system. Your technicians were extremely helpful and professional. My house was left neat, clean and in perfect condition.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the whole team at G & S for treating our recent surprise heating system failure with a concern for our welfare such as I have not experienced before from any business. Our heat pump outdoor unit gave up the ghost after a short 6 year stint. The initial solution appeared to require the replacement of the entire system due to the industry changing from R–22 to R–410A. However, Jack was able to locate a new R–22compatible outdoor unit which he was able to donate to our case, reducing our out–of–pocket expenses to just installation labor alone.

From the outset we were made to feel that finding a reasonable and least expensive solution was your priority. Jack expressed a very real desire to help us through this unexpected equipment failure with the least pain–financially–as possible.

In the end, your decision to treating us, the customer, with respect for our situation, was better than we ever expected. Sadly, it is not common in today’s business climate to place the welfare of the customer over profits. I know that you and the team will be blessed for choosing to run your business in this “uncommon” way.

It was great seeing you on Sept. 6 at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. Here is the information which Shirley and I want to forward to you concerning the installation of our Geothermal heating system which you installed in April of 2009.

I have kept a careful record of our electric bills during the years before and after the installation of our new geothermal heating system. The average heating and cooling cost on a daily basis for the year for 2,300 square feet, amounted to an unbelievable $1.14 a day.

We heated our house with wood for 30 years before the installation and have not used wood at all since the system was installed. Even during the coldest period this past winter, when the temperatures were 11 degrees F, we did not have to activate the supplemental heating elements in the furnace.

All that Shirley and I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you. Feel free to use us as a reference if you need one.

We had a new furnace and filter system in October. I want to let you know that the guys who did the install went above and beyond. They basically rebuilt the base area that supported the furnace and all the equipment. The result was a solid installation that functions and looks great.

In addition they took the time, even though this was a lengthy installation, to go over the necessary aspects of the furnace, the thermostat and filter system, with me, to assure that we were off to a good start with the new equipment. I never felt rushed.

Finally they did a thorough job of cleaning up.

I would like to add that the sales person was great too. We never felt pressured but he was available when we had questions. He also took the time to make sure that we thoroughly understood the rebates and financing available to us. Thanks to everyone at G & S for a job well done.

I would like to thank you for the call you answered for our family on Saturday. Our heat stopped working on Friday, but by the time my husband admitted the repair was beyond him, it was Saturday morning and 50 degrees in our home. It had been one of the coolest nights of the year, we had several inches of snow on the ground and another cold day loomed before us.

As soon as my husband called, your employee rearranged his schedule to get to us as soon as possible. In less than an hour he was here, and forty five minutes later we had heat again!

Our heat pump system is 19 years old and we had called other companies first to try and get help. They either didn’t have the part, or promised to get back to us after noon on Saturday. Your employee was here by 10:15, part in hand AND your final bill was less than any of the other estimates!

We will save ourselves the time and trouble of calling anyone else for our future needs.
