GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP - RENEWABLE ENERGY
Thanks to energy efficiency ratings of 300-500%, WaterFurnace systems (GEOTHERMAL) save many homeowners up to 70% in heating and cooling costs
while helping to protect the environment.
WaterFurnace Envision Series Geothermal All Envision units utilize the ozone-safe R-410A refrigerant to meet the most stringent EPA requirements now and for many years to come.
WaterFurnace Synergy3D The Synergy3D is the geothermal equivalent of a boiler, furnace and air conditioner-all in a single unit.
WaterFurnace Legend Series Geothermal The Legend Series represents some of the highest efficiency units available and is a great choice for years of reliable energy savings and comfort.

As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, homeowners have another important incentive to choose geothermal.
This new bill signed into law
on Feb. 17th, 2009, offers homeowners a renewable energy tax credit of 30 percent of the total investment for a residential geothermal heat pump installation. Unlike incentives associated with ordinary fossil fuel systems, this tax credit is not capped
at the lifetime limit of $1,500, and it makes geothermal systems more accessible to homeowners.
Many states and local utilities also offer tax credits and utility rebates to help homeowners see an even faster return on their investment.
Geothermal systems capitalize on the solar energy stored year-round just below the earth's surface to provide free, geothermal energy that increases the efficiency of home heating, cooling and hot water systems and reduces energy bills.
In addition to manufacturer rebates, utility, state and now federal tax incentives that enhance the affordability of geothermal systems, this cost-effective, environmentally friendly technology offers a host of benefits that include:
- Free, renewable supply of solar energy
- Efficiency ratings up to five times higher than those of ordinary heating and cooling systems
- Savings on utility bills up to 70 percent
- Reduced carbon footprint, since the system burns no fossil fuels
- More even distribution of heating and cooling for improved comfort
- Quiet operation with no noisy outdoor
units to disturb the environment or
neighbors - Safe operation that requires no open flame or fuel storage tanks
- Less maintenance
- Increased system longevity (an average life span of 24 years vs. 15 for conventional air conditioners and 20 years for fossil fuel furnaces)
G & S Heating, Cooling & Electric, Inc. uses Geothermal heat pumps. In even the most extreme climate regions, the temperature several feet underground is between 45 and 75 degrees farenheit.
These heat pumps circulate a flued through piping buried in the ground, discharging heat to the ground in summer and pulling it from the ground in winter. The heat pump coils are in contact with this fluid rather than the outside air as in a standard heat pump, thereby avoiding the huge temperature swings of our atmosphere.
Geothermal heat pumps can be incredibly efficient, delivering from 3 - 6x the amount of energy used to power the pump's compressor and fans/pumps.
G & S has been serving King and Snohomish County since 1977.
