SOLAR HOT WATER

Save up to 90% on Hot Water Heating!

Hot water is the second largest load in most homes and by installing a solar hot water system you can save a significant amount on your energy bills.

Solar energy is free and can be harvested very effectively in climates like ours. With highly efficient collectors and components, even on the cloudiest of days solar
radiation can be used effectively. We have panels that are specifically designed for the northern climates, and can produce up to 70% of the annual hot water requirements of an average household.

During the summer months almost all of the energy required to heat your domestic hot water can be covered with a high performance solar system. During the transitional months, solar energy is generally used best to preheat domestic hot water.

Space heating or pool heating can also be done effectively with solar collectors.

Experts agree, a solar water heating system is the easiest investment in renewable energy.

According to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (ESSI), there are 1.5 million solar water heaters already in use in the United States.

Conventional Water Heaters Use Energy and Pollute:
According to mechanical engineers at University of Wisconsin’s Solar Energy Laboratory, an average four person household with an electric water heater needs about 6,400 kilowatt hours of electricity per year to heat their hot water. Assuming the electricity is generated by a typical power plant with an efficiency of about 30%, it means that the average electric water heater is responsible for about 8 tons of carbon dioxide (C02) annually, which is almost double that emitted by a typical modern automobile.

The same family of four using either a natural gas or oil fired water heater will contribute about two tons of C02 emissions annually in heating their water.
