Some Hot Weather Tips

family-outdoorsMost of us look forward to some sunny, warm summer weather in this part of the country. We may not have the coldest winters around, but we also don’t always have the most accommodating weather in general to enjoy. That is why you really want to get out there and the heat of sunny days when you can.

Of course, you also need to be able to beat the heat if you are going to be able to enjoy your summer season to its fullest. We have a few tips that will help you to do just that. Remember to contact the Lake Stevens AC pros on our team if you need any cooling services this season.

Dress Appropriately

No, we don’t mean to simply wear shorts and a t-shirt. You should also pay close attention to the materials used in the clothes that you wear. Look for pure cottons and linens, which allow for your body to breathe in the hot summer season. Synthetic fibers and materials have a way of trapping heat in.

Eat Thoughtfully

When the heat of summer is at its highest, the way that you eat can help to keep you cool. Obviously, opting for throwing something on the grill outside or microwaving prepared foods is a good way to keep the house from heating up. You should also avoid protein rich foods in the heat, though. They can really weigh you down. Fill up on fresh fruits, veggies, and cold salads if you want to live comfortably.

Go for a Dip!

It can be tempting to sit inside in the air conditioning when summer heat gets to  be more than you can handle. We recommend that you take advantage of a public swim area, such as the Snohomish Aquatic Center, though, if you want to cool off. The kids can get some exercise in, it’ll get you out of the house, and it’s just a lot of fun!
