Why Is My Home Heating Unevenly?

There is a lot to love about the winter season, but the fact of the matter is that it is a lot more difficult to love if you are not able to come home to a warm, comfortable home at the end of the day. Unfortunately, some homeowners put up with a subpar performance from their HVAC systems simply because they don’t realize that there is a surmountable problem behind that inadequacy. A very common issue that many face is the development of cold spots throughout their homes. There are many different potential causes of this issue.

Insufficient Insulation

You may immediately assume that your heating system itself is to blame for uneven heating throughout your household. In actuality, though, your heater may be working just fine. It’s possible that insufficient insulation in your home is allowing heat to transfer out at a rapid rate, though, which can account for cold spots. If your cold spots are paired with increased heating costs, it is very possible that your insulation needs to be revamped.

Damaged Ductwork

If you use a forced air heating system, and you have cold spots throughout your home, the cause of the problem may be damaged ductwork. If your air ducts are leaking, or even if they were poorly designed and installed to begin with, you are not going to be able to heat your home evenly. Contact us to discuss your ductwork service options.
