For Reliable Power Call Us For Your Generator Maintenance

Power outages are a regular occurrence for many people. Storms and high winds can knock down trees, causing power lines to break. Depending on where you live and the severity of the storm, it may be some time before the power company can get someone out to repair the problem and restore power to your home.

Being without power is not a pleasant situation, especially when you don‘t know how long the outage will last. It can also be dangerous when you have a very young, elderly or sick person in your household. If losing your power is something you are concerned about or have to deal with often, it may be a good idea to look into some of your options in terms of emergency backups.

For most people, this means some type of home power generator. G & S Heating, Cooling & Electric has helped customers all over the Puget Sound area gain peace of mind by putting in just this type of equipment. Because we know that different people have different needs, we offer a wide range of products and we can help you select just the right one to suit your needs.

Be Prepared

Hopefully power outages are not something you have to deal with on a regular basis. They may be more common at certain times of year and under certain weather conditions. But regardless of when and how often they happen, it is always best to be prepared for when they do occur. Having a backup generator in place that can run some or all of your household appliances is a great asset when you find yourself suddenly without regular power for an indeterminate amount of time.

Generator Size

When you go to pick out a generator, though, you will find that there are actually quite a few options. One of the main things to consider is how big you want your generator to be. Residential backup generators can range in size from 6,000 to 40,000 Watts, so you want to make sure you understand what you need and what you will be getting.

Of course, the larger the generator, the more it will cost to purchase and install, so you want to get one that is big enough but not too big. This means figuring out exactly what you want the generator to power in case of emergency. For instance, do you want to be able to operate everything in your house as normal or will you be satisfied with keeping only vital systems like your refrigerator and minimal lighting running? A professional can help you evaluate your options in this regard and come up with a good idea of how large a generator you need.

Why choose G & S?

There are many choices when looking for a contractor to install a stand–by power generator. With G & S Heating, Cooling & Electric you get factory–trained technicians backing up the sale. If your new — and expensive — generator were to not work, who will come and repair it?

Our generator installations include a one–year maintenance plan. This plan provides for a check at 6 months, and at 12 months a change of engine oil, oil filter, air filter and check of battery electrolyte.

Our Comfort Consultants will make sure your unit is sized for your needs. One area that is commonly overlooked is the existing gas service. Many times your existing gas service needs to be increased to provide gas in the quantities needed to run the generator and the gas appliances in the home.
